Kunming, Dali, Lijiang & Shangri-La 8 Days Train Tour

Detailed Itinerary: Your guide will meet you at your hotel lobby then transfer you to visit Stone Forest, which is World Karst Gem, Hometown of Ashima. After lunch you will be transferred back to Kunming to visit Green Lake Park (Cuihu Park). Lastly you will pay a visit to the Flower and Bird Market.

Later, you will take a train an overnight train to Dali. 

Stone Forest: Stone Forest Scenic Area is an important site for Kunming's tourism. The scenic area includes 8 scenic spots, the Stone Forest, Naigu Stone Forest, Dadieshui Waterfall, Changhu Lake, Moon Lake, Zhiyun Cave, Qifeng Cave and Guishan National Forest Park.

Cuihu Lake: Two long banks divide Green Lake into four sections. The banks are lined with an abundance of willow trees and dotted with a range of vibrant lotuses. 

Detailed Itinerary: Your guide will meet you at the train station upon arrival. You will visit the Three Pagodas in Chongshen Monastery, which has a History of over 1,800 years located at the foot of Cangshan Mountain.

After lunch, you’ll cruise Erhai Lake by small boat to the Jinsuo Islet. You will enjoy the green Cangshan Mountain and the Three Pagodas from afar.

Three Pagodas: The Pagodas are located at Chongshen Monastery and were originally built in the 9th and 10th centuries.

Erhai Lake: Erhai Lake is a barrier lake formed after a fault foundering of the earth's crust. On the boundless expanse of the lake, there are steamers, sailing boats and flying birds.

Detailed Itinerary: This morning you will explore The Ancient City of Dali, you will head to Xizhou Village to explore their distinctive culture. After you will visit Zhoucheng Village and the Bai people's Tie-dying cloth workshop where you can take some special souvenirs.

You will then be driven to Lijiang, during your journey you can catch a glimpse of the beautiful farmlands and ethnic villages on the way. After lunch you’ll head for the scenic Black Dragon Pool and the Dongba Museum to explore the rich Naxi minority culture.

In the late afternoon, you will explore the Old Town of Lijiang. Lijiang Old Town has a History more than 800 years, it was enlisted as a World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO in 1997.

Xizhou: Xizhou Village is not only a historically famous city but also a typical commercial center of Bai Ethnic Nationality. The old houses and streets are well preserved.

Zhoucheng Village: Zhoucheng is the main village that has the largest percentage of Bai people in Dali. The village is famous for its tie dyeing techniques.

Black Dragon Pool: The Black Dragon Pool Park was built in the second year of Emperor Qianlong's reign (1737). The Black Dragon Pool is listed in the Collections of Famous Pools of China because of its exquisite beauty.

Dongba Museum: Located nearby Yuquan Garden in Lijiang City, Yunnan, Dongba Museum, is a museum which was designed to display the splendid Dongba culture of Naxi (Nakhi) people, it is also known as Dongba Culture Museum.

Lijiang Ancient Town: Lijiang Ancient town was constructed since the turning of Song and Yuan Dynasties and was most prosperous during the Ming and Qing Dynasty. Covering 3.8 square kilometers, the town has a history of more than 800 years 

Detailed Itinerary: Today you will pay a visit to Baisha Mural in the morning. Later, you will be transferred you to visit Jade Dragon Snow Mountain.


Baisha Murals: Baisha Mural are preserved among the architecture Colored Glaze Palace which was built by a headman of Mu clan in Hongwu Period of the Ming Dynasty

Jade Dragon Snow Mountain: The Jade Dragon Snow Mountain park is a beautiful scenic area with its variant temperature across different areas you can experience different views such as the blossom of spring, breathtaking canyons and unbelievable glaciers.

Detailed Itinerary: Today you will visit The First Bend of Yangtze River, followed by a visit to Stone Drum Town. Lastly you will visit Tiger Leaping Gorge, one of the world famous grand canyons. You will then be driven to Shangri-La, on arrival you will check in to your hotel.

First Bend of Yangtze River: The Yangtze River Bend, as its name denotes, is the place where the south running river suddenly turns northward due to changes in the shape of the nearby mountain ranges which form a mammoth V shape at this spot.

Stone Drum Town: The town is located to the west of Lijiang Old Town.

Tiger Leaping Gorge: The Tiger Leaping Gorge is situated approximately 100 kilometers from Lijiang and is a natural preservation UNESCO World Heritage Site. The gorge is said to be the deepest canyon in the world and is one of the most distinctive geological wonders of the world. 

Detailed Itinerary: In the morning, you will visit the Songzanlin Lamasery, the largest Tibetan monastery in Yunnan. Afterwards, you'll visit the tranquil Bita Lake & Shudu Lakein Pudacuo National Park.

Songzanlin Lamasery: It was originally built in 1679 A.D., and finished in 1681. It was a main temple used by Tibetans who lived in Yunnan, Sichuan and Tibet and other areas in the southwestern part of China.

Pudacuo National Park: The Park is located in Shangri-La, in China's Southwest Yunnan Province and is one of the most bio-diverse locations in the world.

Tips: Diqing Civil Airport, is one of the  biggest airports in the northwest of  Yunnan Province. There are flights
to Lhasa, Chengdu, Beijing(via kunming), Shanghai, Shenzhen (via Guiyang),Guangzhou, Kunming and   Xishuangbanna.
