Endangered Oriental Stork Seen in Naolihe Reserve NE China
A gathering of over 600 oriental storks was witnessed by rangers, during a regular patrol to monitor animals in Naolihe National Nature Reserve in Heilongjiang Province. Oriental storks is among the world's most endangered animals with a total number 3,000 around the globe. For three consecutive years, rangers have seen spotted flocks with more than 600 birds in the reserve covering 160,000 hectares. Besides Oriental storks,Naolihe affords shelters for wild goose, egret and red-crowned crane.
