2016 Chinese New Year Travel Rush
The annual Chinese New Year travel rush period has begun with a recorded 2.9 billion trips being made by people around China. The travel rush known as “Chunyun” began on January 24, 2016. The travel rush period is expected to last 40 days and with many students and migrant workers trying to make their way home for the annual family reunion train stations are packed full of passengers. The number of flights has also been increased to cater to the travel rush. Travelling during the Chinese New Year is hectic and awfully crowded, it is advised that tourists to China should avoid travelling during this period.
