Chinese New Year is one of the star studded festivals of Hong Kong. There are endless activities and entertainment available meaning tourists are spoilt for choice during the colorful New Year. Below are some of the best options available whilst touring Hong Kong during Chinese New Year. 


Hong Kong Disneyland

Chinese New Year at Hong Kong Disneyland is one of the most unforgettable experiences! From January to February Disneyland theme park is decorated with red lanterns, peach blossoms, fortune gold nuggets, red envelopes and of course the Disney characters will also be dressed in traditional Chinese costumes just for the occasion! 


Hong Kong Ocean Park

Visit Hong Kong Ocean Park during Chinese New Year to take part in the fun filled Ocean Park Lunar Lucky Fiesta! With specially organized shows and entertainment just for the festive occasion all members of the family will be entertained. The New Year Fiesta takes place from 6th-21st February, 2016.

The parade features colorful floats, dragon dance performances, marching bands, dancers, cheerleaders and the festive firecrackers can be heard.

The Hong Kong Chinese New Year Fireworks along Victoria Harbour are a must see during the festive period. The annual fireworks have become an essential part of Hong Kong’s Chinese New Year celebrations. This year the fireworks will take place at 8:00PM on February 9, 2016. To celebrate the New Year, boats and barges are organized at the center of Victoria Harbour which set off the amazing fireworks which light up the harbour with glittering bursts of sparkling colors.

The Chinese New Year Race Day at Sha Tin Racecourse has been a popular horse racing event in Hong Kong for many years and many visitors like to try their luck on such an exciting day. The grand opening of event is eventful with a wonderful grand opening which begins with the lion dance and numerous cultural performances and entertainment.
