Introduction to Tang Ancestral Hall (邓氏宗祠)

The Tang Ancestral Hall was built approximately 700 years ago and is the ancestral Hall for the Tang clan of Ping Shan. The hall was built by Tang Fung Shun who was the fifth generation of the Tang Clan. The Ancestral Hall is made up of three buildings and has two internal courtyards. The architecture of the buildings is traditional Chinese designs and the roof ridges utilize Shiwan dragon fish and pottery unicorns. Within the hall there are still ancestral tables that are situated at the altar. Today the hall is used by the Tang clan that still resides in Ping Shan to worship during the traditional Chinese festivals and to conduct ceremonies. On December 14, 2001 the Tang Ancestral Hall was officially declared a monument.
