Other cities to follow in the footsteps of Beijing and Shanghai for the Visa free transit is Guangzhou. The policy is to commence on August 1st, 2013. This policy allows foreigners landing in Guangzhou but destined for other countries, 72 hours to roam around the city without having to apply for a Visa.
Applicable to passport holders of the following countries:
European Countries: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Holland, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Russia, United Kingdom, Ireland, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Romania and Ukraine.
America: United States of America, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina and Chile
Oceania: Australia and New Zealand
Asia: Korea, Japan, Singapore, Brunei, The United Arab Emirates and Qatar.
Applications & Conditions
l Travelers to Guangzhou must have a valid passport, ticket and correct travel documents can land at Baiyun Airport.
l You must register with the local police station within 24 hours on arrival.
l Visitors cannot leave for other cities during this 72 hour period.
